In fact, Kato's 3 most important plants, Ibaraki, Gunma and Bando, are located in its homeland. The Ibaraki plant produces cranes, street sweepers, and vacuum trucks while the Gunma plant gives it a hand with cranes but also manufactures excavators, excavators, earth-boring rigs, crawler carriers, forwarders, and all sorts of loaders. Last but not least, the Bando plant specializes in cargo handling and construction machine parts.
Outside of Japan, Kato also runs the Kato Works (China) Ltd. plant in the Jiangsu Province, China producing hydraulic excavators while Kato Works (Thailand) Co.,Ltd. supports the Japanese plants in producing cranes intended for the foreign market.
But I digress...
In short, Kato excavators are made by Kato Works itself, in its own Japanese manufacturing plants.
