A good example of that is the fact that the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.emanualonline.com\/cars\/tesla.htm\">Tesla<\/a> Model Y clinched the title of the world&#8217;s most-produced vehicle in 2023, effectively beating well-known cars like the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.emanualonline.com\/cars\/ford.htm\">Ford<\/a> trucks and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.emanualonline.com\/cars\/toyota.htm\">Toyota<\/a> RAV4.<\/p>\n<p>Indeed, French data analytics firm <a href=\"https:\/\/www.inovev.com\/index.php\/en\/home-english\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Inovev<\/a> reports that Tesla manufactured an astonishing 1,137,885 units of the Model Y, eclipsing the production numbers of the long-revered Ford F-Series trucks and the Toyota RAV4, which tallied at 933,198 and 989,517 units, respectively \u2014 not a small feat for a manufacturer that barely even existed only a little more than a decade ago.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-68713 size-full lazyload\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.emanualonline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/Tesla-Model_3-2018-1600-05.jpg\" alt=\"Tesla Model 3\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" data-srcset=\"https:\/\/www.emanualonline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/Tesla-Model_3-2018-1600-05.jpg 1200w, https:\/\/www.emanualonline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/Tesla-Model_3-2018-1600-05-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.emanualonline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/Tesla-Model_3-2018-1600-05-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.emanualonline.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/Tesla-Model_3-2018-1600-05-768x432.jpg 768w\" data-sizes=\"(max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 1200px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 1200\/675;\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The list of the top ten cars made also included names like the Toyota Corolla (869,228), Honda CR-V (679,832), and Ram Trucks (651,581). Tesla&#8217;s Model 3 got into the top ten, too, with 636,519 units made, showing how major Tesla has become in the car world.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, I can already hear you say, &#8220;Yeah, but it&#8217;s not just about how many cars were made; it&#8217;s how many were actually sold.&#8221; Well, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.emanualonline.com\/blog\/tesla-model-y-worlds-best-selling-car-2023\/\">Model Y was also the best-selling model<\/a> worldwide in 2023, with around 1.23 million sold.<\/p>\n<p>Still, while Tesla might be doing well at the moment, despite the recent slowdown in sales, there&#8217;s much more to the story. For instance, Chinese carmaker <a href=\"https:\/\/www.emanualonline.com\/blog\/tag\/byd\/\">BYD<\/a> produced over 3 million vehicles last year, which is almost twice as much as Tesla. BYD does offer significantly more models and variants, including cheaper ones, but since they&#8217;re not sold in the U.S. yet, it&#8217;s hard to compare them directly.
