The 911 GT3 Manthey Racing kit is officially offered in the US for $57,300 and could be the perfect alternative to the GT3 RS.<\/p>\n

While the Manthey Racing Performance Kit for the 992-gen 911 GT3 in Europe was introduced last year, the US has been left out since then. Luckily, Porsche<\/a> is finally bringing the kit to the States, with a hefty price tag of $57,300.<\/p>\n

The latest Porsche 911 GT3<\/a> is one of the purest performance cars on sale right now. With its naturally-aspirated 4.0-liter flat-6 producing 510 hp and screaming until 9,000 rpm, it brings excitement to every drive, especially when combined with the 7-speed PDK or 6-speed manual gearbox.<\/p>\n

Still, while the standard GT3 might already be the ultimate driver’s car, the Manthey Racing kit can make it even faster around a track. In fact, it managed to slash four seconds off the standard model’s N\u00fcrburgring lap time \u2014 not a small feat.<\/p>\n

Interestingly, Manthey’s go-to recipe to make a Porsche faster is quite simple \u2014 more downforce and less weight. Nonetheless, the real challenge is to retain the GT3’s appeal as a daily driver; hence, don’t be surprised if you’re struggling to find anything different with the kit installed at first glance.<\/p>\n

Indeed, visual changes are subtle, with a larger front lip spoiler alongside neat, small air canards. Various underbody works also comprise air guide elements and a revised carbon fiber diffuser. But the most striking change has to be the wider swan neck rear wing, featuring a gurney flap and wider end plate, helping to achieve more downforce by providing a slightly more aggressive angle of attack.<\/p>\n

In addition, Manthey has also fitted the sports car with a bespoke four-way coilover suspension kit, increasing the spring rates by 10% and 7% at the front and rear, respectively. Furthermore, the braking system is also given braided metal brake lines, and you can opt for optional racing brake pads too.<\/p>\n

Manthey also put the GT3 on a 16 lbs. diet thanks to new lightweight forged wheels. The design is very similar to the previous 911 MRs with its aero cover signature style. And although the wheels alone will cost you an eye-watering $15,500, we still think they look marvelously good while giving you extra aero benefits.<\/p>\n

Now, you might assume that, at $50,000 plus extra, you could’ve just gone for the GT3 RS instead, right? And you might be correct. However, it’s worth noting there are some circumstances where the Manthey kit simply makes more sense. For instance, those who might feel like the GT3 RS is a bit too hardcore to be daily-driven but still looking for an upgraded GT3 may find this kit quite attractive.<\/p>\n

Additionally, the GT3 RS is one of Porsche’s most exclusive models \u2014 not everyone can get their hands on one unless they have quite a lot of time on said hands. So if you are lucky enough to own a GT3, you can skip the hassle of trying to turn your standard model into an RS and simply install this kit to get a similar performance increase.<\/p>\n

Overall, as pricey as it is, the Manthey Performance kit does have a certain appeal. But of course, as customers are king, you be the judge here.<\/p>\n
