The Mercedes-AMG EQS 53 might not be the fastest EV out there, but Brabus ensures it’s the most menacing yet.<\/p>\n

Brabus is known for producing some of the most powerful Mercedes<\/a> cars ever, and it recently got its hand on the latest Mercedes-AMG EQS 53 \u2014 the brand’s most powerful and expensive electric sedan. With a sophisticated dual-electric motor configuration producing a juicy 751 hp and 752 lb-ft of torque, the EQS 53 is worthy of an AMG plaque indeed.<\/p>\n

But when it comes to Brabus<\/a>, there are usually two things to be expected \u2014 tons more ponies or super-aggressive styling mods. This time, the iconic tuner left the power department untouched for the EQS AMG and instead focused on the styling part. As a result, it received no power upgrade over the stock car, yet costs over twice as much at $327,000.<\/p>\n

So what does the extra 180 grand get you? Clearly, most of it goes to the heavily revamped exterior. For starters, the huge three-pointed star logo is replaced with the famous double-B Brabus logo alongside a new 3D Panamericana AMG grille, blacked-out aggressive aero bits were added, including a new front splitter, intake garnish, side skirts, air deflectors for all wheels, and a prominent new carbon fiber lip spoiler. Interestingly, Brabus claims all the aerodynamics tweaks can improve the EQS’ range by up to 7 percent at speeds between 60-87 mph.<\/p>\n

Moving to the side, the modded EQS 53 appears lower to the ground thanks to a SportXtra suspension module. Complementing the drop are 22-inch Monoblock Z Platinum forged alloys with Brabus-branded carbon ceramic brakes. The German tuner claims no comfort level difference from the stock EQS 53, as the module is tuned to work harmoniously with AMG’s standard Ride Control+ suspension. Moreover, a small Brabus plaque displaying the CEO’s signature is nesting on the front quarter windows.<\/p>\n

Inside, the cabin is revamped with 100% vegan fabric, processed ecologically with olive leaf extract to produce the natural charcoal color, and Brabus wrapped the seats with perforated “Arrow Wave” quilting stitches for a truly luxurious vibe. But aside from that, no changes were made to the cabin\/dashboard’s layout. Oddly enough, there are fewer carbon fiber bits here than in most other Brabus models, only found on the foot pedals and doorsills.<\/p>\n

It’s safe to say Brabus is new to the idea of tuning an electric Merc, but it pretty much nailed it with the EQS. Although it hasn’t done any tuning to the powertrain, we’re confident it’s only a matter of time before it figures out how to do its magic and extract more power from Mercedes EVs.<\/p>\n

Besides, with a decent styling improvement, ultra-luxurious cabin, and a 751 hp electric motor, what’s not to like already?<\/p>\n
