No need to say that, just like its rather controversial yoke steering wheel, many were not fans, and it became an unused feature for most. The &#8220;standard&#8221; option provides maximum braking power, enough to slow the car down immediately upon releasing the gas pedal. Meanwhile, the &#8220;low&#8221; setting allows the vehicle to coast further and take longer to come to a complete stop. Despite not being as beneficial regarding battery capacity, this setting is ideal for anyone trying to get used to the new regenerative braking feature.<\/p>\n<p>Keep in mind that for regenerative braking to work, drivers need to adapt to a new &#8220;unnatural&#8221; driving technique using only the gas pedal. That way, every time the accelerator is released, the regenerative braking feature will essentially always try to slow you down, converting the vehicle&#8217;s kinetic energy into electricity and storing it in the battery. For instance, on slippery, wet, or snowy pavement, regenerative braking could cause the wheels to lock up, making it difficult to control the car.
