The newly facelifted Porsche Cayenne brings more screens and more power \u2013 your school run will now be faster than ever!<\/p>\n

While the fully electric model is expected to come in 2025, the German manufacturer just unveiled a facelifted Porsche<\/a> Cayenne at the Shanghai Auto Show with more power, more screens, and more cylinders. And although Porsche mostly highlighted its new “digitized and driver-focused” dashboard, the new SUV actually received several upgrades worth mentioning.<\/p>\n

Sure, the dash is now Taycan-ized with a similar three-screen layout, but the rest of the interior remains pretty much untouched. Interestingly, while Porsche used to retain an analog gauge cluster in its models, the SUV now receives a 12.6-inch curved digital display instead, configurable to show the iconic Porsche speedometer design. That way, the fans can still enjoy the familiar cluster while also receiving tons of other information, including a full navigation system.<\/p>\n

Moreover, the center dash gets a standard 12.3-inch infotainment screen with the same interface, and the passenger is offered an optional 10.9-inch entertainment screen with special privacy coating to reduce the risk of distracting the driver. Aside from that, the climate control is new and now located on the center console, with a fingerprint-magnet touchscreen interface and metal switches. Porsche also changed the gear shifter location to the dashboard \u2014 similar to the Taycan.<\/p>\n

In the engine department, Porsche has upsized the Cayenne S’ engine, ditching the previous 3.0-liter turbo V6 in favor of a GT-like 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 \u2014 a surprise in the “downsizing” era \u2014 producing 468 hp and 442 lb-ft of torque without any sort of hybrid assist.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the standard Cayenne retains the V6, but the output is bumped to 348 hp and 368 lb-ft of torque, or 13 hp and 26 lb-ft of torque more than the predecessor. Prefer a stir of electricity? The Cayenne E-Hybrid features a 25.9-kWh battery pack for maximum efficiency.<\/p>\n

Lastly, the most potent Turbo GT model keeps the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8, now slightly tweaked to produce 650 hp instead, good enough to reach 60 mph from a standstill in only 3.1 seconds and a top speed of 305 km\/h.<\/p>\n

That said, improvements don’t stop there, as all 2024 Cayenne models will get Porsche’s electronic damping control system (PASM) as standard. As a result, the German brand claims the new SUV will provide a comfier ride yet sharper handling. Meanwhile, adaptive air suspension will be optional, but the Turbo GT gets it for free. And worth noting, Porsche also tweaked the rear axle steering and torque vectoring to further improve driving dynamics.<\/p>\n

Exterior-wise, there’s not much to report aside from subtle changes. Upfront, matrix LED headlights will equip all models as well as new 3D taillights. Moreover, the facelifted Porsche SUV receives a new hood, slightly more aggressive front fenders, and a cleaner rear end. The new Cayenne will sit on redesigned wheels with sizes ranging from 20 to 22 inches. Additionally, the manufacturer offers new colors \u2013 Algarve Blue Metallic, Montego Blue Metallic, and Arctic Grey.<\/p>\n

Both the Cayenne and Cayenne Coupe will be available this summer, with Porsche taking orders now for those who want a head start. Pricing will start from $80,050 for the base model to $197,950 for the most hardcore Turbo GT Coupe.<\/p>\n
