Alpina just announced its latest BMW creation, B4, as a proper high-performance version of the 4-Series Gran Coupe with 495 hp!<\/p>\n

The long-time BMW<\/a> builder and collaborator will officially be inducted into the BMW Group with its first venture planned together in 2025. Since 1983, it has been recognized by the German government as a car manufacturer, sharing its assembly process with the auto giant. However, it differs from the carmaker by offering spruced-up powertrains, luxurious interiors, and delicate touch-ups across its stable.<\/p>\n

The newest kid on the tuner’s block is based on 4-Series Gran Coupe, called the B4 in true Alpina<\/a> fashion. Naturally, the tuner stuck to its same mantra, adding minor tweaks and details without pulling the spotlight away from the original design. For instance, the grand tourer features subtle front and rear splitters to give it a zing of sportiness from the stock version. Not to mention a classy set of pinstripes running across all doors in contrast with the brand’s signature and shiny 20-spoke rims.<\/p>\n

As with any Alpina, all the magic happens under the hood and the B4 Gran Coupe. Beneath the sexy silhouette lies an uprated six-cylinder powertrain from the B3. Thanks to some clever trickery, the firm’s engineers could churn out an impressive 495 hp and 528 lb-ft of torque, marking an increase of 33 hp and 22 lb-ft. Alpina achieved this with a revised engine software and an all-new exhaust system. So apart from sounding epic, the B4 can accelerate from 0-60 mph in 3.7s and go flat out at 186 mph \u2014 pretty impressive for a grand tourer, eh?<\/p>\n

Alpina also injected a dose of sporty handling into the B4’s overall package, fitting it with anti-roll bars, stronger bushes, and mountings. Couple this with a performance braking setup (15.6-inch rotors at the front; 13.6-inch rotors at the rear) and 20-inch Pirelli P-Zero tires, and you have a sick platform to play with.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Alpina wrapped the B4 cabin in luxury with a special Lavalina leather lining on the seats and steering wheel. Moreover, additional touches such as the Alpina plaque on the center console keep things more exclusive with a custom build number for each creation.<\/p>\n

There’s a possibility that we may not get this over to the States since most Alpinas on sale are top-tier models such as the B7 and B8. For now, the B4 Gran Coupe starts at $100,671 in Germany<\/a>!<\/p>\n
