The Vanderhall Brawley is perhaps the most promising all-electric off-road-oriented vehicle to date, packing a 404-HP powertrain, 35-inch tires, and a purpose-built suspension.<\/p>\n

Utah-based EV manufacturer Vanderhall lifted the silk sheets off its first-ever four-wheeled model, dubbed the Brawley. What looks like the unholy offspring of a Jeep Wrangler and a sand buggy seems to have been created to conquer the untamed deserts.<\/p>\n

The American company took its sweet time with the buggy before releasing the buggy bearing the Brawley moniker instead of the previous Navarro nameplate. Going by the short video released by the company, the Brawley seems ready to storm the desert, almost as if gliding on the sandy terrains.<\/div>\n

\"Vanderhall<\/p>\n

It is very interesting to find the first four-wheeled model of an autocycle manufacturer that comes with the GTS tag. The label sets the performance standards of a vehicle sky-high, but Vanderhall has the numbers to justify it. Four dedicated electric motors channel power to all four wheels, synchronizing to generate 404 HP and 480 lb-ft of torque. Not too shabby for an off-road buggy!<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, a regenerative braking system keeps the Brawley driving as long as possible. Moreover, the motor, inverter, geartrain, and cooling system are integrated into a single unit, thus allowing Vanderhall to come up with a pretty compact design. In addition, the individually controlled motors and four-wheel steering system offer pristine handling and maneuverability on the treacherous and unwelcoming desert sands.<\/p>\n

The buggy sits on a 300-volt architecture that is much more efficient than the customary 48V or 96V drivetrains. Vanderhall promises 10 years without maintenance, courtesy of advanced lubricating systems and components. Buyers can choose between 40 kWh and 60 kWh battery options, both packing DC fast charging. As a result, the Brawley can be juiced up to 80% in less than an hour. Besides, the claimed 200+ mile driving range on a single charge seems pretty impressive, especially for a desert vehicle.<\/p>\n

Huge 35-inch tires sitting snugly around the four 18-inch wheels will help put all the available power to the ground. More than 20 inches of suspension travel guarantees unprecedented levels of off-roading performance, taking electric driving thrills to new heights. Moreover, a bespoke ABS braking system ensures that you can stop the buggy at the first sign of danger.<\/p>\n

Although powerful, the Brawley doesn\u2019t compromise on comfort. For instance, the transparent glass doors are particularly eye-catching. In addition to providing an unrestricted view of the surroundings, they also help the driver see and avoid any potential obstacle that might damage the vehicle when driving wide-open throttle through the dunes. Meanwhile, the Brawley also features a sealed and filtered cabin large enough to house 4 adults, a removable roof section, and a Bluetooth audio system.<\/p>\n

Vanderhall will open the ordering books from July 15, 2021.<\/p>\n
