Jeep has been rumored to be working on a seven-seat version of the Compass for some time, and now an official teaser video confirms that.<\/p>\n

Namely, Jeep Brazil\u2019s latest teaser video and images show that the brand\u2019s new SUV will be more than just a Compass with two extra seats.<\/p>\n

Jeep has shared first glimpses of its upcoming seven-seat SUV, showcasing a few of its styling elements. Although the images are dark, we can see a curved front end with a different grille design. Obviously, the grille has Jeep\u2019s signature seven-slot style, but it features a new studded pattern. The headlight unit is also distinct from the Compass SUV, appearing sharper and sleeker.<\/p>\n

There is nothing more to look out for the design in these teasers. However, some highly camouflaged spy shots suggest a low roofline, longer rear doors, a sharper tailgate design, increased rear overhangs, a revised rear bumper, and a new rear quarter glass patch, all setting it apart from the Compass.<\/p>\n

The SUV\u2019s design, however, is not the most noticeable thing to look for in the teasers; rather, it\u2019s the new moniker it might feature. The video clearly shows an \u201cER\u201d lettering on the SUV, indicating the use of either Cherokee or the Commander name. Given that Jeep currently uses the Cherokee and Grand Cherokee names, the likelihood of the SUV getting the Commander moniker is reasonably higher. Whatever the name might be, it is almost certain that the seven-seat Jeep SUV won\u2019t carry the Compass or Patriot designations.<\/p>\n

As for the powertrain, Jeep has already confirmed that the SUV will have two engine options: 1.3-liter turbo petrol and 2.0-liter turbodiesel, the latter producing more than Compass\u2019 173hp. It will also be abundantly equipped with features like automatic emergency braking, blind-spot detection, adaptive cruise control, lane departure alert. Jeep will also employ its newest infotainment system with 4G connectivity and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.<\/p>\n

The seven-seat Jeep SUV will be available in Brazil, with other countries in South America following after. However, the model probably won\u2019t be sold in the US.<\/p>\n
