As a result, we\u2019ve seen a fair number of rumors related to the next generation Ranger since last year. One of the most prominent rumors was that the newly redesigned pickup truck would be available in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.emanualonline.com\/blog\/tag\/plug-in\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">plug-in hybrid<\/a> version.<\/p>\n<p>And it looks like this rumor has turned out to be true. Namely, Car Expert\u2019s recent report confirmed with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.emanualonline.com\/blog\/tag\/ford\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ford<\/a> Europe that the next-gen Ranger would receive a PHEV variant. A spokesperson told Car Expert that the Ranger would also be a part of this plan. So, this means that Europe will soon get a plug-in hybrid Ranger.<\/p>\n<p>Notably, Ford <a href=\"https:\/\/www.emanualonline.com\/blog\/tag\/usa\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">US<\/a> has declined to comment on this announcement. However, a PHEV Ranger isn\u2019t far from reality in the US, considering how things are going.<\/p>\n<p>Although Ford hasn\u2019t released details about the plug-in Ranger, the report mentions an anonymous source that says the truck will feature an all-new <a href=\"https:\/\/www.emanualonline.com\/blog\/tag\/hybrid\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">hybrid<\/a> powertrain. To be more precise, it will most likely be powered by a 2.3-liter <a href=\"https:\/\/www.emanualonline.com\/blog\/tag\/turbocharger\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">turbocharged<\/a> four-cylinder paired with an electric motor. As a result, the Ranger plug-in hybrid will produce 362 HP and 501 lb-ft of torque. It is also worth noting that these are just speculations, so take it with a grain of salt.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Ford <a href=\"https:\/\/www.emanualonline.com\/blog\/tag\/australia\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Australia<\/a> did put out a statement by saying that the Australian customers are showing a lot of interest in sustainable vehicles like EVs and PHEVs.
