Now the manufacturer moves another step forward, confirming the release of its new electric subcompact SUV called the EQA, based on the GLA.<\/p>\n<p>The EQA features the best Mercedes has to offer at the most affordable price possible. The vehicle is perfect for those still new to EVs and should prove to be a lot of fun to drive. Unfortunately, with the European launch imminent, it&#8217;s still unsure whether Mercedes plans to release the EQA in the US market. Translated into realistic numbers, it is expected that the battery pack will provide 200-250 miles of real-life range, still quite impressive for an entry-level electric vehicle.<\/p>\n<p>The EQA250 will be the base model, equipped with a front-mounted electric motor pumping out 187 HP and 277 lb-ft of torque. Compared to the GLA, this is a little less power but more pull. Nonetheless, it&#8217;s believed that Mercedes is looking to release a twin-motor all-wheel-drive variant producing more than 250 HP, at some in the future.<\/p>\n<p>The cabin is also significantly modernized, now with the round push-buttons removed in favor of an all-digital console, assisted by a stellar voice command system. Buyers can also choose between a 7.5-inch or a 10.2-inch touchscreen display, along with Mercedes&#8217; second-generation MBUX infotainment system.<\/p>\n<p>Despite all its interesting features and impressive battery range, the 2022 Mercedes-Benz EQA will start at a reasonable $57,750 and be manufactured in China and Germany.
