Genuine Scooters, aka The Genuine Scooter Company, is a Chicago-based producer of motor scooters. Founded in 2002, the company was a wing of Scooterworks USA, which sold vintage Lambretta and Vespa scooters via mail-order catalogs featuring scooter accessories and parts. However, before you tinker with your Spyder make sure you have a Genuine Scooter service manual to get the job done right.
Genuine Scooters' very first model was the model year 2002 4-speed two-stroke manual 150 cc ""Stella"" model. The Stella was successful, and in 2006 the company began a partnership of sorts with PGO Scooters, a Taiwanese manufacturer. Genuine developed the ""Buddy,"" an automatic CVT scooter.
Upon occasion, Genuine produces unique limited-edition scooters. Such as the ""GB150"" version of the Stella, a Black Cat Fireworks scooter, a high-performance Riot Buddy 50, a high-performance ""Psycho"" Buddy 125, and Buddy 125. In late 2015 they introduced the 10th Anniversary special diamond edition Buddy 50 & 125.
In 2015, a second sister scooter company was established, ""Chicago Scooter Company"" to help round out their product line by offering a value-based range of scooters to compete with the lower-priced Chinese scooters in the market. Currently, in 2019, their two models are the ""go."" and ""go. MAX"", both 50 cc 4T based scooters. Make sure you grab your Genuine Scooter repair manual today.
