Skoda, the Czech automobile manufacturer has used the Skoda Rapid name for many years. Today, it represents three different small family vehicles including a five-door liftback sedan, a European-originating hatchback, and a four-door sedan from China based on a similar Indian Rapid model. Because this vehicle has seen so much diversity, many people all over the world have a need for ongoing maintenance and repairs. Through a Skoda Rapid workshop manual, owners and technicians can keep these vehicles in good working condition.

Originally, the Skoda Rapid was produced in the 1930ís as a coupe. It was a mid-sized vehicle produced from 1935 until 1947. There were two models, one titled the Model 901 which held a four-cylinder 1,386 cc SV with 31 horsepower. The second was called the Model 922 which was also a four cylinder but 1,558 cc OHV with 42 horsepower.

Because Skoda has such a rich history to it, there were many improvements and changes that the Rapid saw over the years. One of the most notable changes was in 1980 when Skoda released the Skoda Rapid coupe with a rear engine.

Currently, the liftback sedan Rapid has five doors and has been in production since late 2012. With a minimalistic appearance, it is offered in three different petrol engines as well as one diesel option. All engine options are four cylinders with the exception of the base 1.2 petrol which is three. The current liftback Rapid is price aimed towards the lower class, making it affordable to maintain.

The four-door sedan Rapid based out of China shares body panels and other features with the Chinese VW Santana. In the Chinese market, some simple details were incorporated including a double-sided mat in the boot as well as warning vest holders under the driverís seat.

Also still in production today is the five-door hatchback which is also referred to as the Rapid Spaceback. It has been in production since September of 2013 and features a similar wheelbase and front panels of the Rapdi liftback. With four different petrol engines and two diesel ones, it is seen as an impressive addition to the Skoda lineup. With a variety of improvements and upgrades, the Skoda Rapid is seen as quite impressive.

While the Skoda Rapid name is applied to three different vehicles, people all over the world are able to access this vehicle. Like other vehicles, the Rapid too has been rebranded and marketed in many countries. Thankfully, wherever it is, technicians can refer to a Skoda Rapid service manual in order to keep it well maintained.
