Sky

Saturn, the American automobile manufacturer was in business until 2010. In 2006, Saturn announced the release of the Saturn Sky which made their debut as a 2007 model. This smaller roadster vehicle was produced by Saturn for a little over 3 years. This two-door automobile was only in production for a short time, but it was a hit during these 3 years. Today, technicians and owners do their best to keep these cars in shape. With the help of a Saturn Sky repair manual, any necessary maintenance can be addressed with these manuals.

The Saturn Sky was shown as a concept car in 2005 at the North American International Auto Show. The production version was then launched a year later, being built at GM’s Wilmington Assembly plant in Delaware.

The Saturn Sky had 18-inch wheels and a 2.4 L Ecotec engine that produced 177 horsepower. There was also a 2.0 L turbocharged direct injected engine that had 260 horsepower. With an optional upgrade kit, the Sky could get up to an additional 30 horsepower, hitting a 290 total. When the Sky was first released, both engine types were offered as a 5-speed manual or automatic transmission. Both Saturn and automobile enthusiasts found this option to be impressive.

Just like many other vehicles, other automobile brands also rebranded the Saturn Sky into their own roadster vehicle. Daewoo and Opel both took the Saturn Sky model and used a similar body style for the production of their own vehicle. European countries and South Korea both saw the Saturn Sky in other rebranded vehicles.

Over the 3 years that the Saturn Sky was in production, there were a few minor upgrades that took place as well as the launch of a limited-edition Sky roadster – the Ruby Red Edition and the Hydro Blue Limited Edition. Some notable features included matching stitching, Monsoon premium stereos inside each limited-edition model and removable racing stripes.

Although, the Saturn Sky came to an end in 2010, the vehicle still remains to be very note-worthy among automobile enthusiasts. Its 3-year production run allowed for Saturn enthusiasts to experience a Saturn roadster vehicle which hadn’t been done before. The special edition Saturn Sky vehicles are still scattered throughout the world and held to a high appreciation. Owners of these vehicles as well as technicians who are familiar with the Saturn brand can refer to a Saturn Sky service manual as a way to ensure that proper maintenance is routinely performed.
