The Opel Zafira is a vehicle produced by the German automobile manufacturer since 1999. Currently, it is known as the Opel Zafira Tourer C and it is referred to as a compact multi-purpose vehicle. Just like many other vehicles produced by Opel, the Zafira too has been marketed under different automobile brands due to its popularity. Today, technicians that work on Zafiras and other similar rebranded models can refer to an Opel Zafira service manual for any necessary maintenance or repairs.
The first generation of the Zafira was known as the Opel Zafira A and it was produced for about 6 years, from 1999 until 2005. The first generation of the Zafira was able to achieve third place at the European Car of the Year in the year 2000. The first generation had a variety of engine options ranging from a 1.6 L Family 1 I4 (petrol) to a 2.2 L Y22DTR I4 (diesel). In 2003, the first generation Zafira received its first facelift which included upgraded seat layout as well as improved transmission options.
The Zafira B was seen as a notable upgrade to the original Zafira. In 2005, the second generation Zafira launched and it included different engines including ecotec versions. There were four different transmission options including both manual and automatic. The Zafira B was also debuted in the UK as the Vauxhall Zafira and in Europe, Southeastern Asian countries, and South Africa as the Opel Zafira. Chile and Mexico saw the second generation Zafira under Chevrolet.
Currently, the Zafira Tourer C is in production and has been since 2011. The third generation Zafira replaced the Opel Sintra and has been a popular debut. With hybrid and electric versions emerging in 2012, the Zafira has continued to please Opel enthusiasts. A natural gas model was also released in 2011. 2017 saw the Opel Tourer C undergo a significant facelift which included new front and rear bumpers, improved navigation system, and a brand new interior that has hotspot and Apple car play ability.
For the last 20 years, Opel has been producing the Zafira which has been a popular multi-purpose vehicle all over the world. Opel is known for producing reliable vehicles that other brands also end up marketing. Thankfully, there are no signs that the Zafira is going anywhere. Owners of these vehicles or similar rebranded models are able to maintain their Zafiras with the use of an Opel Zafira workshop manual.
