The name Tigra has been given to two different Opel vehicles in the past. In 1994, the Opel Tigra A was released and was in production until 2001. After a three-year break, Opel re-released the Tigra as the Tigra TwinTop B and it was in production until 2009. Just like many other vehicles created by Opel, the Tigra too was so popular that other vehicles rebranded it as their own. Owners of the Tigra and rebranded versions of it can refer to a Opel Tigra service manual for any necessary maintenance that may arise.
The Opel Tigra was sold in the UK as the Vauxhall Tigra and in Australia as the Holden Tigra. The vehicle was so popular that even Brazil, Argentina, and Mexico rebranded it as the Chevrolet Tigra. This sporty compact vehicle was a front-engine, front wheel drive that underwent different changes throughout its production.
The Tigra was created on the same platform that the second generation of the Opel Corsa was built on. Opelís Zaragoza plant in Spain began producing the Tigra in September of 1994. The Tigra and Corsa shared the same dashboard and most of the same engine parts which included a 1.4 L X14XE I4 (petrol) and 1.6 L X16ZE I4 (petrol).
After a short break of three years, Opel released the Tigra TwinTopB in 2004. This go around the Tigra was based on the third generation of the Corsa that was also produced by Opel. It was a two-seater coupe convertible that was viewed as widely impressive. With two petrol engines, the Opel Tigra was a great option for someone who was looking for a sporty drive. With two petrol engine types and one diesel, the vehicle was offered as both a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed semi-automatic transmission. Production of the second generation Tigra ended in May of 2009 with sales being just under 100,000.
While Opel did produce a variety of different cars, the Tigra was seen as one of the most popular because it was reintroduced even after a 7-year production run. Because the vehicle was rebranded so many times all over the world, people can still find Opel Tigras today. However, they may be seen as a Vauxhaull or even a Chevrolet. Technicians who work on any of these vehicles, as well as owners who work on them can make use of a Opel Tigra repair manual if any damages occur.
