Just like with other vehicles made by Mazda, the Mazda 5 was also another underappreciated vehicle created by the Mazda Corporation. The Mazda 5 was a vehicle that was introduced to the automotive world in 2012 with the goal of providing expansive space while maintaining a smooth ride. This mini-van structured vehicle only had a production of 3 total years in North America but Mazda enthusiasts have been able to maintain the Mazda 5 through the use of a Mazda 5 repair manual. While most car enthusiasts donít tend to work on mini-vans, Mazda owners set themselves apart from the rest.

While North America only produced the Mazda 5 for a total of 3 years, the Mazda Premacy was actually the original name of the Mazda 5. The Mazda Premacy became known as the Mazda 5 in 2012 after the model itself underwent a number of changes. The original Mazda 5, known as the Premacy was a very basic mini-van that had room for a lot of improvement. Through changing the name to the Mazda 5, the updates increased which also increased sales.

The Mazda 5 set itself apart from other mini-vans by being a compacted mini-van that has enough room for 6 people and luggage. Like other traditional mini-vans, the Mazda 5 has three rows of 2 seats each, as well as space in the rear for luggage. With sliding doors, the Mazda 5 makes getting in and out easy.

In 2012 when the Mazda Premacy became the Mazda 5, there were a number of updates that were released with the Mazda 5. The SKYACTIV-G 2.0L was included as well as the 6-speed SKYACTIV-DRIVE automatic transmission. These were both released as an innovative measure as most the Mazda mini-van had never undergone such transformation prior to that.

Over the three-year production run of the Mazda 5 in North America, the majority of the changes that the Mazda 5 underwent were to the engine and transmission. However, there were also a lot of color options available as well throughout the years of production.

The Mazda 5 was popular enough that other automotive brands also created their own versions of the Mazda 5. Both Ford and Nissan produced mini-vans of similar shape and style internationally throughout Taiwan and Japan. However, all models were so similar in design that it was hard to tell a difference.

Mazda is known for its production of compact vehicles and the Mazda 5 was known to be a compact mini-van at one point, although it was primarily internationally that the term compact was adopted. While it did undergo many changes that had space optimization in mind, the vehicle itself was never really referred to as compact in North America.

While the Mazda 5 did have a popular run in production, it was discontinued in North America between 2015 and 2016. However, many Mazda 5s are still on the streets today. With the help of a Mazda 5 service manual, owners of these vehicles have been able to keep their Mazda 5s running.
